2016 New Student Library User Education Socialization (MABA)

Polinema Library is one of the technical implementation units that has a role as a center for information and learning resources, especially for all academicians of Malang State Polytechnic (Polinema). Seeing its important role, the library is managed with the concept of service-based management and a multi-technical grouping system, so that the information in the library can be well organized. Libraries always strive to implement various information technologies for easy access to information services by users.

In its application, what often happens is that most library users do not have the skills or skills in using the search tools that have been provided by the library. So that users have difficulty in searching for the information they need. For this reason, librarians / library managers form library guide services by providing user education. With this user education, it is hoped that library users can know more about the library. In this user education, it will also help users to use information tracking tools so that it will be easier to find library materials or information needed.

User education activities are carried out in the form of socialization activities with a focus on activities for new students of the 2016 class. The activity which took place on August 31, involved all librarians at the Polinema Library who collaborated with each department at the State Polytechnic of Malang. Technically, the socialization activities are carried out in each department which includes: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, accounting, trade administration (AN), information technology (IT) and GMF. Overall the activity ran smoothly and the students were enthusiastic about participating in the activity. It is hoped that in the future the educational outreach activities for library users can continue and can even be upgraded to an information literacy program, especially for all academicians of Malang State Polytechnic (Polinema).
