Training in Mendeley-Based Reference Management for Student Final Project Completion

Read 2 min

The Mendeley training event for students is a continuation of the Polinema Library’s efforts to provide literacy skills, particularly for students working on assignments and, more importantly, to facilitate the process of preparing the final project. Unlike the Mendeley training event for librarians that used outside sources, the speakers at this event were internal librarians.

This training activity took place on November 18, 2020, just a few months after the Mendeley training activity. This was due to the fact that these two events were related and ongoing, namely that librarians were first trained to use Mendeley in order to become student tutors.

The activities are carried out online using the Zoom Meeting media. Students must register in advance for the training event using the online form provided by the Polinema Library. The Polinema Library informed the event of this activity via the library’s social media channels, which were accompanied by registration procedures. Participants who participate receive facilities in the form of training material modules and certificates as proof that they have participated in training activities. Participants are given a link to download the Mendeley application, and the librarian who serves as a presenter guides them through the process from the beginning to the end. (Nizam)
